The Walking Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 10.15 for 10.30 start for a pre-scheduled walk.

WALKING SCHEDULE UP TO END OF 2026


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start in the public car park, Bridewell Lane, Acle NR13 3RA. Circular walk via the village centre, Weavers’ Way and the River Bure. Toilets on route and refreshments in Acle following our walk. Walk approx. 3.5 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start in the car park at Lound Plant Centre, Jay Lane, Lound NR32 5LH. Circular walk along quiet roads, field edges and footpaths through surrounding countryside. Refreshments following our walk back at the Plant Centre café. Walk approx. 3.5 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start outside St Botolph’s church, Lowestoft Road, North Cove, NR34 7PH. Plenty of free parking. From there, we shall be following a circular walk via the river bank footpath and Marsh Lane. Refreshments available following our walk at Club Virage Café, Brock Road, Beccles NR34 7PJ, just a short drive away. Walk approx. 4 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start in Blythburgh Church car park, Church Road, Blythburgh, Halesworth IP19 9LP. From there, we shall be following a circular walk along the river Blyth footpaths. Easy terrain with no styles. Refreshments after our walk at The Star Inn, Hall Road, Wenhaston IP19 9HF.Walk approx. 3.5 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start at the Wherry Inn, 7 The Street, Geldeston, NR34 0LB, from where we shall be following a circular route via Ellingham Mill. Refreshments following our walk back at the Wherry Inn. Walk approx. 3 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start at Outney Common free car park, which can be accessed via the driveway to the Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club, Outney Common, Bungay NR35 1DS. From there, we shall be following a circular route via Bungay and Falcon Meadow, a popular riverside community space valued for its wildlife. Refreshments in one of the cafés or pubs in Bungay before returning to the car park. Walk approx. 3.5 miles.


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am outside Kessingland church (free parking available in the Beach car park, Church Road, Kessingland NR33 7SF), from where Trevor Shurmer will be leading us on another of his historic walks, this time entitled ‘Suffolk Murders’. Refreshment stop half-way at the retail park which is on route. Walk approx. 3 miles plus 1.5 miles to walk back to the church (alternatively, return can be made by bus).


Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start in the car park at Reedham Ferry, NR13 3HA. What3words///dorms.crockery.encodes. Be careful if using sat nav, make sure you are aiming for the South (Thurlton) side or it may try and send you to the other side of the river! From the car park, we shall be crossing the river on the Chain Ferry as foot passengers (50p per person). Operates on demand, takes 5 minutes to cross the river. On the other side, we shall be following a circular walk via the Wherrymans Way and Reedham. Toilets on route. Refreshments in Reedham or at the Ferry Inn. Walk approx. 3.5 miles.
